Pemayangtse Monastery is very divine place founded in the 17th century by Lhatsun Chempo one of the three lamas of Yuksom. Pemayangtse means ‘perfect sublime lotus’ the monastery is dwelling place for the monks who are sworn to celibacy. On the top floor of the monastery, there is a wooden sculpture depicting the Maha Gurus Heavenly Palace “Sanghthokpalri” is the main attraction. It’s one of the old monasteries with the large collection of books. September to June is the best time to visit.
Ravangla is a town in South Sikkim located at an altitude of 7000 feet, flourishing as new tourist spot. Ravangla is an ideal destination for trekking and hiking. Ravangla stages the Pang Lhabsol festival in a grand manner every year around August-September. The festival last for three days, culminating in the traditional dances known as ‘Chaam’ on the last day. The stunning landscapes, pleasing tea gardens, ethnic culture, aged monasteries make it must visit spot. The best time to visit Ravangla is during summer, from the month of March to May.
Namchi is one of the fastest growing tourist spot located 78 km from the Gangtok, World’s largest statue of Padmasambhava, the patron saint of Sikkim is a major attraction to see here.
