SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION CHECKLIST FOR INDIANS

WHAT IS MEAN BY SCHENGEN VISA

Schengen Visa is a particular type of visa that allows you to travel in the Schengen Area with just one visa included 26 European countries. Now you can apply for the visa any of these 26 countries which have officially abolished border control within their shared borders.

DOCUMENT CHECKLIST FOR SCHENGEN VISA

SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION

 Schengen visa application form should be filled and signed by the applicant. You can fill the form online. Don’t forget to fill all the mandatory fields.

PASSPORT

Your passport must be valid for at least three months with at least two blank pages.  The application must be filled and signed by both the parents along with photo copies of their passports in case of the minor.

COVER LETTER

You need to Draft a personal cover letter from you will explain the intention of your Schengen Visa Application. This letter will work as a brief summation of your application process. You could visit either for business and/or pleasure. You must have to include your travel itinerary and plan.

TRAVEL ITINERARY

You are not bound to book flight tickets in advance for your Schengen Visa application. However, you can provide your travel itinerary including flight dates and flight numbers, mention entry and exit from Schengen Countries. You also need to add your hotel and stay plans in them. However, when going to collect your Schengen Visa, you may be required to show confirmed flight tickets and residence plans.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

A medical insurance with a minimum cover of €30,000 will help you cover the medical hospitals in case of any health emergencies. The health care services will be quite expensive than India.

BANK STATEMENTS

You must submit your original bank statements for last three months along with the original stamp and signature of the bank. Bear in mind that online bank statements will not be accepted and this is a mandatory requirement for the grant of your visa. If you’re being sponsored by parents for your trip, you will have to show their bank statements along with a letter explaining that they are sponsoring your entire trip including sign on all the bank statements.

IF YOU ARE SELF EMPLOYED:

Company bank statement of the last 6 months.

ITR (Income Tax Return)

Must have copy of your business license.

Income Tax Return last 6 months

IF YOU ARE EMPLOYED:

Leave permission from the employee.

Employment contract or your latest 4 months salary slips.

Current bank statement of the urn (ITR) form or Certificate of Income Tax.

ADDITIONAL DOCUMENTS

Visa officials can ask for additional documents during your interview. You must have the need to prepare additional document as mentioned below.

Passport and personal IDs such as PAN card, marriage certificates.

Employment related documents such as salary, proof of employment.

Tickets, itineraries, travel insurance and travel related documents.

BEST COUNTRY TO SECURE SCHENGEN VISA

Rather than other Schengen countries like France and Belgian, Germany is best option to apply for your Schengen visa. If you are applying for the tourist visa in German counter at VFS, you need not attend  the interview at the German consulate.

PROCESS TO REGISTER YOUR SCHENGEN VISA APPLICATION

You will have not need to visit an embassy anymore.  However, you can visit VFS Global’s Schengen Visa Centers nearest to you. There are 16 VFS Global centers for Schengen Visa Application in 13 states and union territories of India.
